For the 10.10 Software Release scheduled for deployment in November 2018, the following mandatory changes will occur to the web service endpoints (both REST and SOAP API).
CloseFlightPlan - The closeDestinationInfo parameter will now be required for all flight plan close requests and it will require a minimum of 3 characters.Cancelled
- AmendPilotProfile - Modifying the aircraftProfile section will be deprecated and no longer allowed from this endpoint. A new endpoint named SaveAircraftProfile will replace this capability. This endpoint will be deployed with the 10.9 software release. Please contact our Vendor Support Team for availability in the lab.
The 10.8 Software Release is scheduled to be deployed on May 22nd at 0200Z. The downtime will be approximately 2 hours. The Software Release will include the following (please review the lab WSDL for further information regarding the new features and enhancements):
Enhancements:
- Weather Outage Warning Notices for Route Briefings - If versionRequested for RouteBriefingRequest is set to 20180102 or greater and the briefingType is NGB, then the route briefing will include Weather Outage warning notices.
- Removal of Historical METARs from Emailed Briefings - Historical METARs were removed from the Email briefings to reduce the size of those briefings.
- Garmin inReach devices - Since Garmin acquired DeLorme and rebranded the DeLorme inReach devices as Garmin inReach, references to DeLorme in the WSDL have been renamed Garmin inReach (DeLorme). Web service usage and registration of these devices has not changed (i.e. "DELORME" is still passed as a parameter for the appropriate web service endpoints).
- Route Search Now Supports FAA Preferred Routes - The RouteSearch endpoint now allows FAA Preferred routes to be requested. FAA Preferred are routes between your departure and destination airports that are predefined by the FAA to decrease delays from weather, traffic density, and other system delays. Not all airport pairs have preferred routes. To retrieve these routes, use the new searchOption value of "FAA_PREFERRED_ROUTES".
Defects:
- ICAO "S" Equipment Code - For ICAO flight plans, when filing or amending, the equipment code field is now checked to determine if an equipment code of "S" (VOR, VHF RTF, ILS) is provided, then the equipment codes "L" (ILS), "O" (VOR), and "V" (VHF RTF) are not allowed since "S" indicates the inclusion of these three code.
- ICAO Mandate - The FAA will be implementing changes to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) flight plan form in the future which will causes minor changes to some of the ICAO flight plan fields. These changes are identified as “ICAO Mandate” in the WSDL documentation parameter descriptions.
